St.
John's Episcopal Church
Webmaster
Hello St. John's,
Father Rayside, his wife Mavis, the Vestry Members and the entire St. John's
Congregation have been truly gracious and welcoming since I began attending St. John's. It has been a pleasure being
accepted into the St. John's family. When I volunteered to create the St. John's website, I had no idea it would have
allowed me to get to know each and every member of the St. John's family so dearly. I am thrilled to be a confirmed
member of St. John's Episcopal (Anglican) Church of Springfield Gardens, New York.
It is said that "Baptism
takes us into the Church, and Confirmation sends us out", in other words 'confirmation' commissions one for the
work of ministry. It is my mission in volunteering my time and effort in creating and maintaining St. John's website to
draw all people into union with God and one another in Christ Jesus.
The purpose of St. John's Episcopal Church's
website is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Posts news & notes, events, missions, directions, inspirations and priest
information and much more. Please continue to visit our website each week for weekly updates.
Please feel free to contact
me with any website requests at the below email address link.
Thanks be to God,
Sharon Cardoza-Hunter

Senior Citizens Computer Class
Our webmaster, Sharon Hunter will be holding the second and finalsenior citizens computer class on
December 8th, 12n-5pm.
St. John's Episcopal
Church held its free computer class for our senior parishioners and family on Saturday, November 3rd, from 12 noon -
3pm. We had a very good turn out and will be conducting a follow up class in the near future. Technology is the fastest growing
industry as of right now and it has no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The goal is to educate our seniors on the basic
skills required to participate in today's technological environment. Most seniors shy away from learning to use a computer,
so this class held on Saturday by St. John's webmaster, Sharon Hunter was to make our seniors computer friendly
and to become engaged in the use of the computer. Thanks to all our seniors who took the first step as beginners
and to those who attended for a refresher course.

Social Media - Networking
As Episcopalians (Anglicans) we should embrace the social media and web publishing phenomenon. We
should utilize the Social Media as a discipleship tool. The Church should look at these tools as a social evangelism tool
- bringing people into the Church via the internet as well as in our Church building. The goal is to expand the Sunday experience
to the rest of the week by way of our church's Website, Twitter discussions, access to our Church's website updates
via Facebook and the sharing our church activities via YouTube when possible. Please visit our social media networks to learn
more about our Church and to stay connected with our Church family. Contact our webmaster for more details Sharon Hunter;
