YOUNG ADULT GROUP
The Young Adult Group would like to extend Special Thanks to everyone who participated in this special
event, our Church's 85th Anniversary Celebration. The event began with the welcome remarks given by Earleene Sealy,
which was followed by the Pastoral Remarks given by our very own, The Rev. Fr. Jerrick F. Rayside. Immediately following the
welcome and pastoral remarks, the audience was enlightened on the 85 years of history at St. John's Episcopal. Highlights
included; all the priests who have served our Church as well as the early years of St. John's Episcopal Church and the
Springfield Gardens community. Leaders of the
Church ministries and programs of St. John's provided details
of their ministry; history and current events.
In closing, the 85th Anniversary celebration ended with a
History and Testimonial movie that showcased seven of our long time parishioners: Barbara Taylor, Edith Moore, Uriel Adams,
Roslyn Sealy, Joan Lee, Arthur Mitchell and Eleanor Robinson, directed by Sharon Hunter. All the attendees then gathered
in the undercroft to view more historical data and enjoy refreshments. If you have not been given a copy of the event
catalog, please see any of the Young Adult Group members. Thanks to the members of the Young Adult Group for putting
this event together: Earleene Sealy, Sharon Hunter, Cheryl Boyce, Roxann Samuels & Nicolette Cornelius. We hope we
were able to enlighten you on the history of our Church!
